Diplomacy in action.

With all the Hoopla I am knee deep (kudos to anyone who gets the revoltingly bad Starship reference) in events and english family and all the rest of it. Not much time to blog I'm afraid. Tomorrow is the big day. In fact it's after midnight so today is the big day. My sister is getting married. Amazing stuff.

But you all don't really care, so I am going to post something which made me chuckle from Duncan's blog.

Here is the hot-off-the-press transcript from the recent South Korea / North Korea quadrilateral talks:



South Korea: I believe this to be a quadrilateral. (South Korea holds up a flashcard.)

North Korea: No, my friend, that has only three sides. That is a triangle. This one, however, is in fact a quadrilateral. (North Korea holds up another flashcard.)

South Korea: Ah, but you are also mistaken. The shape you are holding has five sides, and is thus a pentagon.

North Korea: Why is it that the names of a three-sided shape and a four-sided shape do not end in "agon"? Should it not be "triagon" and "quadragon"?

South Korea: Here we are. This most certainly is a quadrilateral.

North Korea: Yes, and also a parallelogram.

North Korea: It looks like a rectangle to me.

South Korea: It is a rectangle. It is a parallelogram and also a rectangle. You see, all rectangles are also parallelograms. And when they are musical, then they are singing parallelograms.

North Korea: Ha! South Korea, you kill me.

South Korea: Occasionally.
