My High School Continues to Rock.....
Greenhill Student Earns Perfect Score on National Math Contest
Eighty-three thousand students participated in the American Mathematics Contest 12, Form A, Feb. 1. Out of all of them, one student received a perfect score, Greenhill School junior Zachary Abel.
This qualifies Zach to take the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME), one step closer to the goal of United States Math Olympiad Team member.
The American Mathematics Contest 12 (AMC 12) is a 75 minute, 25 question test that requires pre-calculus knowledge. Other Greenhill students who qualified for the AIME via the AMC were Mark Henderson, Alan Penkar, Travis Carlson, Kohei Fukushima and Sameer Deshpande.
Students meeting a selection index based on the AMC and AIME scores will take the United States of America Mathematics Olympiad (USAMO). Top scorers from there will attend the United States Math Olympiad Training Camp and hopefully advance to the Olympiad team after that.
